TorBox vs Real-Debrid 2026: Price, Cache, Features
Real-Debrid is the best-known debrid service and has the largest host list. TorBox costs less per day on its entry plan, adds Usenet and storage, and reportedly does not apply the cache filter Real-Debrid started in May 2026.
Last updated Reviewed November 2026
Short answer: pick TorBox if you want Usenet, storage, a free tier to test with and a service that reportedly is not filtering its cache. Pick Real-Debrid if you already rely on it, your apps only support it, or you need the widest host coverage and the filter does not touch what you download. Real-Debrid blocks bots, so its numbers below come from secondary sources and are marked as such.

Price per day
TorBox Essential is $3 for 30 days, about $0.10 per day. Real-Debrid at about 4 euros for 30 days is about 0.13 euro per day, so the entry plans favour TorBox. Real-Debrid’s long plans change that: about 16 euros for 180 days is roughly 0.09 euro per day, which is close to or slightly below TorBox at list price. Euros and dollars are not converted here, so treat the comparison as a rough ranking.
Your TorBox bonus days move the numbers. You get 7 extra days for every month purchased on your first paid purchase. Buying one month of Essential gives 37 days for $3, about $0.081 per day. This site does not publish TorBox’s 3, 6 and 12 month prices because they sit behind login, so see the current price at checkout and divide by the days you receive. The how the bonus works page lists the conditions, including the popup you must confirm.

A debrid service keeps a shared cache of files other users already added. If your file is in the cache, it is available at once.
ElfHosted reported on 12 May 2026 (updated 4 October 2026) that around 10 May Real-Debrid began blocking a large share of cached torrents based on filename keywords, with errors like “File was removed from debrid service due to copyright infringement”. Real-Debrid had not commented publicly. Firesticktvstream says some older cached links now resolve less reliably, and says TorBox applies no such keyword filter as of mid-2026. ElfHosted sells TorBox bundles, so its advice is not neutral, and we could not confirm any of this on a Real-Debrid page.
What it means for you: if your use is Linux ISOs, your own uploads, public domain and indie media, or Usenet, you are unlikely to feel it. If you rely on a very large shared cache, test before paying for a long plan.
Where Real-Debrid wins
- Familiarity. Most guides, add-ons and apps were written for Real-Debrid first.
- Host list. The GitHub table counts 79 supported hosts against TorBox’s 132 in a 322 host sample, but sample methods vary, so check the hosts you need.
- Cheap long plans. 180 days at about 16 euros is hard to beat if you want a set and forget account.
Where TorBox wins
- Usenet on paid plans, plus RSS and the TorBox News Server on Pro.
- Storage and access. 300 GB to 1 TB of storage, WebDAV (webdav.torbox.app), export to Drive and Dropbox, and a documented API.
- A free tier (1 slot, 10 downloads per month, 10 GB per download) so you can test before paying.
- Seeding from 24 hours on Essential up to 30 days on Pro. Real-Debrid’s seeding is not covered in the sources we could read.
TorBox is not perfect: there is no official mobile app, it is not open source, and the GitHub comparison notes downtime incidents and a reported Terms change against sharing accounts or API keys (TorBox’s Help Center is softer, see the sharing section above).
Pros
- Usenet, RSS and WebDAV included
- Free tier to test
- Cheaper entry plan per day
- No cache filter reported
Cons
- No official mobile app
- Long-plan prices are behind login
- Fewer guides than Real-Debrid
- Downtime incidents reported
Simultaneous use and account sharing
A TorBox slot is one active transfer, meaning a torrent or download that is running or seeding. As of November 2026 the Help Center lists 1 slot on Free, 3 on Essential, 5 on Standard and 10 on Pro, so 3 slots means three transfers at once, not three users. Cached files do not use a slot, extra items wait in a queue and start when a slot frees up, and a download with no progress for 2 days is removed. Separately, a Help Center article says TorBox does not track your IP, puts no limit on how many devices are logged in and applies a fair share policy, and its abuse-system article lists mass account sharing among the behaviours that can get an account flagged. In practice your own phone, TV and laptop on one account are fine, while handing one login to several households is where restrictions begin. The GitHub comparison also reports a Terms change against account and API-key sharing, so read the current Terms before you share anything.
Real-Debrid publishes no slot count that we could find. Its terms state that “any account sharing or generated links sharing will lead to a suspension of the User account”. ElfHosted writes that Real-Debrid’s automated systems watch for many IP addresses in a short window, with a warning in the panel before a ban. User reports differ on how many simultaneous IPs trip it, so we state no number and treat the single-IP restriction as reported, not confirmed by an official page. In practice a VPN that switches exit servers, or moving between home wifi and mobile data mid-download, can look like several IPs. TorBox’s Help Center describes the opposite default, with no IP restriction, but still a fair share policy.
Who should pick which
- Already happy on Real-Debrid and not affected by the filter: stay, nothing here forces a move.
- Hit by the filter, or want Usenet: TorBox.
- Not sure: open the free tier first, then buy one month of Essential so the bonus applies to your first purchase.
The bonus only applies if you open the link while logged in and confirm the popup before you pay. If no popup appears, do not buy: turn off your ad blocker for the page and try again. The bonus is extra time, not a discount, and support will not add it afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
Is TorBox cheaper than Real-Debrid?
On list price, yes at the entry level. TorBox Essential is $3 per 30 days, while secondary sources list Real-Debrid at about 4 euros per 30 days. Real-Debrid's long plans (about 16 euros for 180 days) narrow the gap. Currencies differ, so compare at checkout.
Did Real-Debrid really filter its cache in 2026?
Reports say so. ElfHosted wrote on 12 May 2026 that from about 10 May Real-Debrid began blocking many cached torrents by filename keywords, with no public statement from Real-Debrid. Treat it as reported, not confirmed by the company.
Does Real-Debrid have Usenet?
Not according to the comparison table on GitHub (fynks/debrid-services-comparison). TorBox includes Usenet on paid plans.
Can I move from Real-Debrid to TorBox?
Yes. Most apps that support Real-Debrid also list TorBox as a debrid provider. You add your TorBox API key in the app settings. Check your specific app's provider list first.
Do the bonus days work if I already have Real-Debrid?
Yes. The bonus depends on your first paid TorBox purchase, not on other services. You get 7 extra days per month purchased.
Which has more supported hosts?
Real-Debrid. The GitHub comparison counts 79 of 322 tracked hosts for Real-Debrid and 132 for TorBox, but counts differ by method, so test the hosts you actually use.
