TorBox Pro Plan ($10): Who Actually Needs It

Pro is TorBox's top plan at $10 per month as of November 2026. Most people do not need it, but a few use cases cannot be done on the cheaper tiers.

Pro at $10 per month (as of November 2026) is about three times the price of Essential and double Standard. The honest question is whether any of its extras solves a problem you actually have.

Choosing a term: if you are sure you will use TorBox for a year, make 12 months your first purchase. Only the first purchase on an account earns the bonus, and 12 months is the only term that earns the full 84 bonus days (21 for 3 months, 42 for 6). Renewals do not earn it. See the current price at checkout.

What Pro adds that others do not

  • 1 TB per download. Essential and Standard stop at 200 GB. A multi-hundred-gigabyte archive, a full dataset or a very large backup set only fits on Pro.
  • 10 slots. Ten concurrent transfers suit automation that queues many items, or a small group of your own devices and tools all active together.
  • 30 days of seeding. The longest window, for ratio-sensitive seeding.
  • 1 TB of storage. Double Standard’s working space.
  • Unlimited RSS and Usenet. Plus the TorBox News Server. Pair it with a Usenet-aware tool and you have a second route to files that does not rely on swarms. See Usenet on TorBox.
  • Stated speed of 80 Gbps. In reality this is a ceiling on TorBox’s side. A home connection of 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps will not use it.

Who should buy Pro

Data hoarders with big sets. Someone mirroring public datasets, scientific archives or large open-source collections will meet the 200 GB per-download limit. Pro’s 1 TB cap removes it.

Automation-heavy setups. If you run an RSS pipeline with many feeds plus Usenet indexers, ten slots and unlimited RSS stop the queue stalling.

Seeders who care about ratio. Thirty days is a real seeding commitment. Combined with 1 TB of storage you can keep a lot of content live.

Small teams or labs with a legitimate shared workflow. Be careful here. TorBox’s abuse-system article lists mass account sharing and unauthorised reselling as flaggable, so everything must run under your own use, not a login handed around.

Who should not

  • Streaming one title at a time from a cached source. Essential does this.
  • Anyone who has not hit a single Essential or Standard limit. Pay for what has bitten you, not for a feeling of headroom.
  • People who hope to hit 80 Gbps at home. You will not.

Cost per day and the bonus

$10 a month is about $0.33 a day. With the bonus days on a first purchase (7 extra days per month bought), a 12 month purchase becomes 360 plus 84 days, or 444 days. That is roughly 19 percent more days for the same money: about $0.27 a day if the long term is priced like monthly payments. Annual prices can differ; TorBox only shows them after login, so look at the checkout figure.

For a heavy user the bonus matters more on Pro in absolute dollars, simply because the base is bigger. For 12 months at the monthly rate ($120), the 84 bonus days are worth roughly $28 (an estimate: 84 days x $10 / 30, computed from the monthly list price, not a TorBox figure). This is the same percentage as on any plan.

The bonus is extra time, not a discount, applies once, and requires you to be logged in and confirm the popup. See how the bonus works for the full conditions.

Works on the first purchase of each account only. Because only the first purchase counts, a longer first term earns more bonus days (3 months = 21, 6 = 42, 12 = 84). It is the same percentage and not a cheaper price, so check the price at checkout and only pick a year if you will use it.

Slots and simultaneous use

A TorBox slot is one active transfer: a torrent or download that is running or seeding. As of November 2026 the Help Center lists 1 slot on Free, 3 on Essential, 5 on Standard and 10 on Pro. Slots count transfers, not people or devices, so 10 slots means 10 transfers active at once. Cached files do not use a slot, extra items wait in a queue and start when a slot frees up, and a download with no progress for 2 days is removed. Ten is the highest slot count on any plan, so beyond it extra items only queue.

On devices and IPs, a Help Center article says TorBox does not track your IP and sets no limit on how many devices are logged in, with a fair share policy on top. Its abuse-system article lists mass account sharing among the behaviours that can get an account flagged, warned or banned. Using one account across your own devices is the normal case. Sharing one account between households can lead to restrictions, and the GitHub comparison reports a Terms change against account and API-key sharing, so read the current Terms before sharing.

Fair use at the top end

TorBox publishes fair-use floors: Pro 30 TB a month, measured on a rolling 15 days, Standard 20 TB, Essential 10 TB. Staying under your floor should never get you flagged. Above it a dynamic threshold applies, and misconfigured automation that keeps transfers alive is a common trigger. Each flag gives a warning and 3 days to bring usage down. Three warnings are allowed; a fourth means a ban, and bans for violations are not refunded. If you automate, check your tools are not looping.

Pro in use: three scenarios

A dataset mirror. You maintain a copy of a large open dataset or a set of public archives, with single files over 200 GB. On Essential or Standard those downloads are refused for size. On Pro the 1 TB cap fits them, and the 1 TB of storage holds one or two before you move them elsewhere. This is the cleanest case for Pro.

A Usenet-heavy setup. You run a Usenet automation tool against several indexers and want TorBox’s News Server as one of the sources. Pro includes it along with unlimited Usenet and RSS. The Usenet guide covers how that fits together and the Usenet provider comparison shows how it stacks against a dedicated provider.

A busy personal setup. Several media apps, a script and a WebDAV mount are all active at the same time. Ten slots keep them from queuing. Keep in mind that this is still one household’s use: TorBox’s abuse-system article lists mass account sharing as flaggable.

What you give up by choosing Pro

Nothing technical, but the money is real. $10 a month is $120 a year, $84 more than Essential. If the one feature you need is the 30 day seed window, Standard’s 14 days may be enough. If you need a 250 GB file twice a year, the question is whether a single month of Pro at that moment is cheaper than paying for it all year. You can subscribe month by month, so buy Pro for the month you need it. Remember that the bonus is for a first purchase only, so it is no reason to pick Pro early.

Alternatives inside TorBox

If you only need permanent storage, look at AirLock, a paid feature built for that. If you only need more slots, Standard may do. Compare all tiers on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

What does TorBox Pro include?

As of November 2026: 10 slots, 1 TB per download, 80 Gbps, 30 days of seeding, 1 TB of storage, unlimited RSS and Usenet, and access to the TorBox News Server, for $10 per month.

Is the 80 Gbps speed real for me?

It is the plan's stated ceiling on TorBox's side. Your own connection, Wi-Fi and the source of the file will limit you first, so a home user will not see 80 Gbps.

Do I need Pro for Usenet?

Usenet is a paid-plan feature. Pro adds unlimited Usenet and RSS and the TorBox News Server. Check the plan table to see whether the cheaper tiers cover your usage.

Is Pro worth double the price of Standard?

Only if you need the larger downloads over 200 GB, 10 slots, a 30 day seed window or the News Server. Otherwise Essential or Standard is better value.

Do the bonus days apply to Pro?

Yes, on a first paid purchase via our link: you get 7 extra days per month bought. 12 months of Pro adds 84 days.

What is the fair-use limit on Pro?

TorBox says staying under 30 TB per month on Pro should never get you flagged, measured over a rolling 15 days. Above that, a dynamic threshold applies.
